Recurring Donations

Recurring donations that never stop giving.

Recurring donors are worth three times more than one-time donors over their lifetime - but only if the donations keep processing. Givingtech's Infinity Donations automatically replaces expired and cancelled cards so your monthly giving programme runs forever, without anyone lifting a finger.

Actions needed from you or your donor when a card expires

The biggest reason recurring donations stop
is a card expiry. We solved that.

Every year, a significant portion of your recurring donors would quietly drop off - not because they wanted to stop giving, but because their credit card expired or was replaced. Infinity Donations is our AI-powered service that automatically detects the new card and continues the donation without interruption. It's included free in every Givingtech account.

A recurring donation doesn't have to have an end date.
Step 1
A donor's card expires or is cancelled
Credit cards expire every few years. Sometimes they're lost, stolen, or cancelled and replaced with a new number. Without intervention, the next charge attempt fails - and most systems simply stop and wait for someone to act.
Step 2
Infinity Donations detects the new card from the credit card company
We automatically contact the credit card network and obtain the replacement card number. No emails sent to the donor. No tasks created for your team. The system handles everything silently in the background.
Step 3
The donation continues without skipping a beat
The new payment method is updated in your donor's profile and the recurring donation resumes as if nothing happened. The donor's giving streak continues. You never lose a month of revenue. Neither of you ever needed to do a thing.

When a charge fails, we try again.

Even when Infinity Donations can't obtain a replacement card automatically, we don't give up after one attempt. Our retry logic maximises your chances of recovering each payment.

1
Day 1 - First attempt
We attempt the charge on the scheduled date. If it fails, we log the reason and immediately queue a retry.
2
Day 2 - Automatic retry
We try again the following day. If successful, the recurring date shifts to that new day going forward.
3
Day 3 - Final retry
One last attempt on day 3. For payments flagged with an insufficient funds error, we may also retry on the 21st of the month.
If all three attempts fail: The recurring donation is marked as stopped in your CRM. You'll see the reason it failed and the date - and can reach out to the donor directly to get a new payment method, then restart the donation with one click.

Every recurring donor, fully managed.

Your entire recurring donor portfolio lives in one dashboard. Filter it, search it, act on it - everything you need without switching tools.

Filter and find in seconds
Search by donor name or email. Filter by status (running/stopped), payment method, currency, country, campaign, last payment date, or type.
Five actions on every donation
Charge immediately · Stop · Restart · Change the amount or the card · View full payment history. Every action available in one click, right from the list.
Linked to each donor's CRM profile
Click any donor name to open their full CRM record - their entire giving history, contact details, newsletter engagement, and tax receipts.
See the full value of each recurring relationship
Every row shows the start date, last payment date, and the total amount received from that donor across all months.

Four ways to give on a schedule.

Not every recurring gift looks the same. Givingtech supports four distinct recurring payment types - covering everything from monthly memberships to large multi-year pledges paid in instalments.

Monthly recurring
A donation that processes on the same day of each month. A donor who gives on March 15th will next be charged on April 15th, May 15th, and so on - indefinitely, with Infinity Donations keeping the card current. Set a monthly-specific suggested amount that differs from your one-time donation amounts.
Yearly recurring
A donation that repeats annually on the same date. Ideal for donors making an annual pledge or who prefer to give once a year on a meaningful day - a birthday, yahrzeit, or religious occasion. The same card-renewal protections apply.
Smart installments
A donor pledges a larger sum - say $1,200 - and pays it in monthly instalments of $100 over 12 months. Each instalment is treated as a separate monthly donation. Perfect for major gift programmes and year-end pledges. SmartSums AI will automatically suggest appropriate monthly instalment amounts based on donor history.
Donate now, pay later
A donor is billed for the full amount upfront and receipted immediately for the total. The funds are paid out to you monthly over the number of installments. The CRM tracks each payout individually - which instalment number it was, when it was charged, and when paid. Exportable to Excel at any time.

Put recurring giving front and centre.

You can accept recurring donations on any donation form or campaign. But when recurring is your primary goal, Givingtech gives you dedicated tools to emphasise it - and convert more one-time visitors into long-term monthly supporters.

Donation forms
Recurring-first donation forms with smart monthly amounts
When you want donors to default to monthly giving, set your form to open with the monthly frequency pre-selected. You can also configure suggested amounts that are specific to monthly giving - smaller, more sustainable sums than your one-time defaults. SmartSums, our AI, creates individualised monthly amounts for each donor based on their giving history.
Pre-load monthly frequency with a URL parameter:
https://secureddonation.com/en/pay/leket2?freq=2
Add ?freq=2 to any donation form URL to open it with monthly selected by default.
Crowdfunding campaigns
Two campaign types purpose-built for recurring donors
Launch a campaign whose entire orientation is monthly giving - either a regular campaign defaulting to recurring, or a Membership campaign where supporters sign up to a monthly tier and your goal is measured in members, not dollars.

Receipts that don't remind donors they're donating.

Research shows that reminding monthly donors of each charge can prompt them to re-evaluate their giving. Givingtech's receipting strategy keeps monthly giving invisible - the way it should be.

First donation: full confirmation and PDF receipt by email
When a donor makes their first recurring donation, they receive a customisable email confirmation and a PDF tax receipt in your organisation's name.
Each subsequent charge: receipt created, but not emailed
Every charge generates a new receipt - but it's not sent to the donor. This is intentional: the goal is for monthly giving to become part of their routine, not a monthly reminder of an ongoing commitment.
Donor and org can access all receipts at any time
Donors can log in and view or download all of their receipts. From your account, you can export a ZIP file of all receipts for any donor and any date range - ready to email them for tax purposes.
Monthly email receipts available on request
If your organisation prefers that donors receive monthly email receipts, we can configure this for you. Just reach out and we'll enable it for your account.
Month 1 - Donation confirmed
Email sent: confirmation + PDF tax receipt attached
Donor receives receipt, feels the warmth of their first gift.
Month 2, 3, 4… - Charge processed
Receipt generated and stored. No email sent.
The donation becomes part of their routine. No monthly prompt to reconsider.
Tax time - Export all receipts
Download ZIP of 12 receipts from donor profile in one click
Email the ZIP to the donor - full year's giving documented and receipt-ready.
Any time - Donor self-serves
Donor logs into their account and downloads any receipt
They never need to ask you for a receipt - it's always there.
